One of the newer clubs on the Thai scene, Chainat have enjoyed almost non-stop success in their short existence. A top-3 finish in their 1st season (when only 1 side qualified for playoffs), was followed by playoff qualification and promotion a season later. They found themselves at home in Division 1, and achieved promotion to the TPL immediately. They shipped the most goals in the TPL in their debut season, but managed to survive in the top-flight for another season.
